Grant's
Ales
Packaging
How do you set a microbrewery
apart? In the case of Grant's Ales, we featured famously
opinionated brewmaster Bert Grant, the Northwest's first
microbrewer. With our help Bert's signature became his logo, his
portrait became the company icon in packaging and advertising, his
appearances and interviews the company voice. The result? Local
media and international beer publications featured Bert in a dozen
major stories, exponentially multiplying the brewery's tiny ad
budget. In two years Grant's went from fourth place to second
among Washington State specialty brewers, second only to heavily
capitalized Redhook. In 1995 Grant's was purchased by beverage
giant Stimson Lane, who retains most of the look and feel of our
original packaging and advertising to this day.
